Lantech Avaunt Workstations deliver remarkable results for
applications like Internet audio and streaming video, image processing,
video & digital content creation, speech, 3D, multimedia, and
multitasking user environment, computer aided design (CAD), geographic
information systems, software development, and financial analysis
applications.
Lantech Artisan workstations deliver extraordinary results
for animation, graphics and video editing applications from Adobe,
Alias, Avid, Canopus, Discreet, Matrox, Pinnacle, and Ulead to name a
few. For highly demanding workstation workloads, Lantech Artisan
workstations accommodate up to 2 Intel Xeon processors or up to 2 AMD
Opteron processors, multiple available graphics cards from nVIDIA with
SLI support, ATI and 3DLabs provide superior performance for reliable
and manageable high-density solutions that are equal parts performance,
data protection, and manageablity. Lantech Amplitude workstations
provide flexibility for operating systems and future software with
support for 64-bit computing to help handle the applications of
tomorrow.

What is a render node/farm?
A render node is part of a render farm which is a computer
cluster to render computer generated imagery (CGI), typically from film
and television special effects. The rendering of images is highly
parallelizable activity, as each frame can be calculated independently
of the others, with the main communication between processors being the
upload of the initial models and textures, and the download of the
finished images. Multiple render nodes make up a render farm.
Rendering refers to the process of producing the finished images for a
computer animated film. Rendering is a process amenable to
"coarse-grained parallelism." This means you can divide the problem up
into a bunch of smaller problems, and set a large number of computers to
solving it simultaneously. So modern computer animation usually involved
setting up a large "farm" of servers, all working together to render the
film. Because the bar continues to be raised for the state of the art in
computer animation, computational requirements are increasing rapidly.

Lantech Render Nodes with support for
64-bit computing
provides exceptional
performance on demanding
applications to help you tackle even the toughest jobs and handle the
applications of tomorrow.
